If you’re not excited already, you soon will be, especially after watching this incredible on-track compilation. Filmed by YouTuber 19Bozzy92, it shows the future World Endurance Championship weapon driven around Monza by three of its confirmed drivers: Pipo Derani, Romain Dumas and Ryan Briscoe. For the 2021 season, they will be joined by Gustavo Menezes, Olivier Pla, Richard Westbrook and Franck Mailleux.
The 007 is powered by a bespoke 3.5-litre twin-turbo V8, built by French company Pipo Motours, which is famed for its engines’ success in WRC, rallycross and hillclimb cars. The power output is limited to 680PS (500kW), while the car tips the scales at a mandated 1,030kg. Other invested parties in the project include Joest Racing, which aided in development, Sauber, which was responsible for aerodynamics, and Italian Podium Advanced Technologies, which assembled and designed the car.
The result is a next-generation racing machine, built specifically for the new 'Le Mans Hypercar' class. Take a break today, turn your volume up to 100 and watch as it cuts around the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, in what is only its second test yet. Exciting? We think so…
