Imagine if GT1 made a return. That’s what the GT1 Sports Club is intended to give an impression of, as it brings together the craziest track toys ever made – all of course free of race regulations – onto one circuit.
Video: What modern GT1 could look like
Everything from the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, to the Pagani Huayra R, McLaren Senna GTR and Porsche 935. Eligibility extends to pretty much any car of this type you can think of, including older stuff like the Pagani Zonda R, Ferrari FXXK and McLaren P1 GTR. It’s also open to the very latest and greatest including the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro and GMA T.50S Niki Lauda.
Even with only the Lambo, Pagani, McLaren and Porsche on track, you really can get a sense of the sort of internal combustion symphony we’d be in for if these were all BOP’ed into a class at Le Mans. Could GT1 Sports Club one day become third-generation GT1 racing? Lord we hope so.
