The TT and TTS Roadster are no surprise really given the debut of the (finally decent to drive) TT coupé in the past month, but the TT Sportback has wowed at the Paris Show. It’s a concept for now, but Audi’s quest to fill every conceivable niche – and plenty more besides – pretty much guarantees we’ll see it in showrooms in time. It was impossible to get near it on the stand in Paris so strong was interest from the media.
Think A5 Sportback in concept, with TT styling cues: it gives Audi something more stylish to compete against Merc’s already-successful CLA. Unsurprisingly, the show car comes with a suitably lairy concept specification to grab some more headlines, packing a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TFSI petrol engine producing 400hp. That, along with Audi’s quattro drivetrain, allows a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds. Given it’s based on Audi’s MQB platform this looks like a certainty to us.
