Apache calls in at Goodwood (with video)

The best thing about having an airfield in the middle of the circuit is that you never know what’s going to fly in. Just the other day, the peace was interrupted by the arrival of two Apache attack helicopters.

They were on navigational exercise and, having set off from their base in Suffolk, stopped at Goodwood for refuelling prior to continuing the next leg of their training flight. The military like to use airfields like this as it gives crews experience in operating from unfamiliar sites.

It wasn’t an unwelcome distraction for us, a point proven by the fact so many vacated our desks for a closer look. Oh, and just for you we took a stills and video camera with us. Enjoy the flying visit…
