Today Subaru has revealed the mildly disguised next-generation Impreza five-door hatch as a concept car at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show.

The new Impreza concept previews the design language of future Subaru model, as well as this mainstream five-door hatchback, with clean crisp lines, a lower, wider stance, and a reworking of Subaru’s corporate ‘family look’ face, with a bolder grille and headlamp formation.

In addition to its Impreza Concept, Subaru has also revealed a new limited edition WRX STI, the S207, which is destined for the domestic Japanese market only, with only 400 cars being built.

The WRX STI S207 is based around the ‘standard’ WRX STI sports saloon, but features a specially tuned engine with a higher power 328 PS output, allied to a quicker steering ratio of 11.0:1, plus a revised front bumper treatment, and larger rear spoiler add to the exclusive design of the S207. There are no plans to bring this special edition model to the UK or Europe.
