Just a few weeks after unveiling its small S-FR concept coupe at the recent Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota will be showing the prototype again in a leaner, meaner motor racing form at next month’s Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 for tuning and automotive customisation.
Working in close liaison with Toyota GAZOO Racing (the team behind the marque’s WEC effort), Japan’s largest vehicle maker has re-imagined the S-FR concept as a track-ready competition car, tagged as the S-FR Racing Concept.
This Racing Concept prototype represents Toyota’s vision of the S-FR as a high-performance circuit edition, with a more purposeful stance, aided by wider flared wheel arches, deep bonnet scoops, carbon fibre add-ons, and considerable larger front and rear spoilers. Let’s just hope the S-FR makes it into production in this form.
