A long-awaited convertible version of the Range Rover Evoque has finally seen the light of day… er, or at least the lights of the giant Crossrail tunnel in this unusually subterranean ‘official reveal’ video.
The clip sees a camouflaged Evoque driven through the newly constructed tunnel, taking to the concrete walls before splashing through some water.
JLR claims the trip through the tunnel under London was an ‘unique opportunity to explore the vehicles all-terrain ability’.
The idea of removing the roof from the Evoque was first shown in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2012. It may have raised some eye-brows amongst Range Rover traditionalists, but doubtless the convertible will sell like hot cakes in far-flung places where a traditional off-roader simply won’t cut the mustard.
It’s a fashion jungle out there!
