Yesterday a black and white Rolls Royce Wraith carrying some GRR staff left the Goodwood circuit, headed for Essen in Germany and the continent’s biggest classic car show: Techno Classica.
The trip has been epic, but more on that later. For now we need to get to work to bring you the very best this enormous event has to offer. Having had a swift peek inside we’re not sure if we have enough shoe leather left to cover the 120,000 square metres and 1250 exhibitors, but we’ll give it our best shot!
We’ll be celebrating 90 years of the Rolls Royce Phantom, the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40, 80 years of Jaguar, and the 30th anniversary of the Porsche 959 just for starters. Oh and Mercedes-Benz has done us all the great honour of wheeling out the 1955 Mille Miglia-winning 300SLR as well as one or two other delectable pieces. Also we’ll present our customary selection of Cars that Rock… and just about anything and everything we can get our hands on.
This event is simply massive, so without further ado we’re going to get out there. Lunch? No time for that. Too many cars!
