DS Automobiles – Citroën’s new premium brand – has completed its line-up of recently refreshed models with the announcement of its facelifted DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio models.
The popular DS 3 hatchback and cabriolet models are updated for 2016 with a fresh new face to reflect the ‘family look’ of the larger revamped DS 4 and 5 models versions with new design features and latest-generation technology.
The most notable change in the new 2016 DS 3 is the absence of the distinctive double chevron Citroën logo incorporated into the car’s grille, to stress the fact that the DS 3 is no longer part of the Citroën model, but rather a stand-alone range within the DS Automobiles family.
Since the DS 3 was launched in 2010, almost 400,000 examples have been sold around the world, with the UK becoming the number one market for this sporty little hatch, with British demand even outstripping domestic sales in its home French market.
The revised DS 3 features a redesigned front end with new Xenon LED headlamps, a revamped grille and broader scope for personalisation possibilities. The updated model also gains enhanced functionality for connectivity and driving assistance systems.
For top-level performance, the new DS 3 can be specified with the latest PureTech 130 three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with the optional EAT6 automatic gearbox available with the PureTech 110 petrol engine. The reworked DS 3 will also be available in Performance specification, boasting an impressive 208hp. UK sales commence in the Spring.
