It’s the Porsche party of the year this Saturday at Silverstone. For the second year running the Northants circuit will be the place to go shopping for everything from a Carrera GT to a Derek Bell signed helmet. And – for the Porschephile who really does have everything – there’s even a Porsche tractor up for grabs.

Can Porsche Carrera GT break the £500,000 mark?

Silverstone Auctions have again joined forces with Porsche Club GB for this Porsche-only sale. Sixty-five cars spanning 50 years are on the block, with the highlight being a 2004, 30,000km Carrera GT. The “last analogue hypercar” is expected to fetch £440-480,000.
At the other end of the spectrum are a smattering of no-reserve unrestored cars as well as 944 Turbos, Boxsters and even 911s with a guide price of below £20k.

Collectors’ treats are sure to include a restored 1968 911 T SWB (estimated at between £85-100,000) and a 1975 911 2.7 MFi Carrera Targa, one of just six UK supplied cars (£130-160,000). A
1981 Porsche 924, hidden away for the past 20 years and with just 10,000km on the clock, is estimated at between £15-20,000.
Newer cars include a 2010 997 GT3 RS, a gen II car finished in Carrera White with red wheels and decals (£135-155,000) and a 2008 GT2 (£130-150,000).
There is as well a vast array of Porsche bits and bobs – turbo wastegate for a 924 Carrera GTS anyone? – and a lots of signed helmets, prints, posters and books.

And what about the Porsche tractor? It’s a three-cylinder air-cooled (of course!) diesel designed by Ferdinand Porsche before the war but built under licence in 1959. It is also a handsome thing. Restored after being found rotting away in a Dublin field in 2014, it could be yours for between £10-15,000.
Something for everyone then? Sounds like it – as long as they like Porsches! For the full list of cars for sale and more information go to: https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/the-porsche-sale-2016/view_lots/pn/all.
