Meet Lynk & Co – The Chinese brand about to make its debut in Europe

Set to debut in key European markets in early 2018 with the promise of a four model product line-up, Lynk & Co has just revealed a ‘teaser image’ of its initial model, an SUV called 01. A compact saloon, simply dubbed ‘Concept Car’ has also been mentioned, but not revealed as yet.
The 01 SUV will be built in China, but will share much of its technology with Volvo, including its vehicle platforms, such as the Compact Modular Architecture that is due to first be seen in the new XC40 SUV model late next year.
Although full technical details have yet to be officially revealed, the Lynk & Co 01 SUV is confirmed to be powered by in-line 3- and 4-cylinder engines, plus a plug-in hybrid system, as also used by Volvo.
Lynk & Co’s cars are expected to stand out with state-of-the-art connectivity and cloud services, with all of its models constantly connected to the internet, and being delivered with an open API, an app store and car-to-car communication, enabling its vehicles to share data between them, including traffic conditions and available parking spaces.
Lynk & Co looks set to sell and distribute its new cars through its own Company-owned sales stores, all with fixed pricing.
