Skoda has released the most detailed picture yet of its seven-seat SUV in concept form. The VisionS, as it’s badged in pre-production form, will be unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1.
Expect the model on sale to be called the Kodiak (or Kodiaq, depending which rumour mill you go with), a name the Czech company has trademarked.
The new SUV will most likely benchmark itself against the Kia Sorento/Hyundai Santa Fe, with a starting price of around £25,000, and will use the VW Group MQB chassis, which is earmarked to provide the platform for VW’s new Tiguan. In size, it will be slightly smaller than a Volvo XC90, while still providing three rows of seats and ‘generous space for six occupants’.
Power should come from the same four-cylinder engines used by the Superb saloon. Expect a five-seat version to follow suit when the SUV goes on sale in the UK early next year.
