How many NASCAR tyres can you fit in the back of at Renault Kadjar? Sounds like the start of a truly terrible automotive joke, but actually it's a conundrum that faced the GRR team earlier this week.

Kadjar Diaries – Tyring Work

As you no doubt saw at the 74th Members' Meeting Max Chilton demonstrated an 800bhp NASCAR alongside his very brave girlfriend (now fiancée, congratulations Max) Chloe. Since then the car has been stored in the paddock shelters while the 74MM structures are dismantled. Only last week it needed to be moved. Ah.
Pushing the two cars was no problem, but then we were faced with the issue of the spare tyres. Up stepped our trusty Kadjar. The crossover, which has been growing in popularity with the whole team, has a hefty 416 litres of boot space. Fold the rear seats down and that skyrockets to 1,478! More than enough room for everything I could ever be carrying normally, but what about a series of two-foot wide racing Goodyears?

Easy, it could take five at a time with two adults sat in the front in comfort along with the parcel shelf. Another win for the versatility of the big red Kadjar. Maybe Renault should start marketing it as a race transporter too..?
Average fuel consumption this week: 48.1mpg
Price of our car (Signature Nav dCi 130 2WD) £23,570 plus £800 optional extras
