The VW-Porsche 914 typifies the early 1970s, with its funky wedge styling and wild colour choice. When production of the 914 began in 1969, this mid-engined two-seater was said to have not only offered the buyer the widest selection of alloy wheel options available on any car in the German market, but it was also available in the widest – and possibly brightest – choice of colours.
