One of the (many) things the Goodwood motor sport events team is rightly proud of is the interview stage. You know, where our sporting heroes take to a stage in front of a live audience to answer our questions, chat, gossip or generally just be themselves in front of fans just as enthusiastic as they are.

GRR and Classic & Sports Car team up for awesome live stage
Over the years at the Festival of Speed there have been some classic encounters with many true greats of motor sport. If you like us are fans of the format, we have some good news to share with you…
Goodwood Road & Racing is going to present the Live Interview Stage at this October’s Classic & Sports Car Show. That’s right, GRR – and our ace interrogator Henry Hope-Frost – is spreading its wings in the direction of Alexandra Palace in North London in order to sprinkle a little Goodwood motor sport magic on the capital’s greatest classic car show.
We are very excited about this. Sorry, though, we can’t tell you yet who we have lined up for Henry to talk to. But rest assured we will be going through the Goodwood contact book to get the… well, the press release for the event says “an unmissable line-up of motoring legends” and it will certainly be that.
The interviews won’t just be about the sport either, since we want legends from across the automotive spectrum to come and chat with us, and share anecdotes about the four-wheeled things we love so much.
Who would you most like to see up on the GRR stage with Henry? You can post a comment back to us with your suggestion (at bottom of this page). We will be announcing our “GRR guest list” in the run-up to the event.
The Classic & Sports Car Show is certainly the right forum for GRR’s inaugural excursion away from the estate. The show is only in its second year but already has established a big following, as you would expect coming from the people behind the world’s best-selling classic car magazine.
What can we expect when the show opens on October 28th? Circa 300 classics, displays by many of the leading classic car dealers, a classic car auction by Coys and a big range of attractions both inside and outside what is of course a splendid venue in Ally Pally. Oh, and did we mention the Live Interview Stage..?
The centrepiece of the event promises to be absolutely stonking: a display of the final 10 cars in the global Century of Supercars poll – and yes the overall winner, The Greatest Supercar Ever, will be announced on the day. If you haven’t voted for your favourite you can still do so (until 31 August) by going to the Classic & Sports Car Show website at www.classicandsportscarshow.com/supercars.
The dates for your diary are 28-30 October 2016, at Alexandra Palace, North London. More details of the show and ticket availability are on the Classic & Sports Car Show website.
We will be seeing you there!
