A cynic would call it a Murciélago LP640 in a bat suit. When it made its debut in 2007, Lamborghini called it a jet fighter for the road. The reality lays somewhere in between. The F22 Raptor-inspired styling (which would go on to influence the lines of the Aventador) is bespoke to the 20 coupes and 20 roadsters that were produced, with the LP640 providing a backbone. The sublime 6.5 litre Bizzarrini V12 is boosted by 10hp to 650 horsepower, and an aviation inspired digital instrument cluster and swathes of glorious military green suede carry on that fighter theme on the inside.
All in all, it’s a fabulously bespoke item that paved the way for outlandish specials to come, and if you’ve got upwards of £900,000 to spare, the 2008 example featured in the gallery above could be yours. It is one of 11 U.S. registered coupes and has less than 1000 miles on the odometer. It’s had four owners, all who have kept it at a showroom level of spick and span. Fancy one of Lamborghini’s most exclusive and expensive cars? It’ll be hitting the block at the Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction on Friday August 19th.
