When the inaugural Chantilly Arts & Elegance classic car event was held in France in September 2014, McLaren displayed a unique example of the then recently-launched McLaren 650S, this model being an update of the Woking-based marque’s MP4-12C.

One‑off and only 17 miles on the clock, is this the best McLaren 650S ever auctioned?
The 650S shared the 12C's chassis and was powered by the same McLaren M838T 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, the upgraded 650S motor delivering 641bhp, enough to achieve a top speed of 207mph (333 km/h).
Commissioned by the McLaren Paris retailer, the unique 650S Coupé being offered at the 3 September Bonhams Chantilly sale was built by MSO – McLaren's bespoke division – finished in pearl white metallic with the colour extending throughout the exterior, including the front splitter, door blades, and side intakes. In contrast to this, details such as the roof, lightweight alloy wheels, and mirror casings were finished in gloss black
The monochromatic design gives this one-off 650S a dramatic look. A body-coloured front bumper and MSO door blades improve airflow and optimise aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear of the car boasts an aggressive carbon fibre diffuser contrasting with the crisp paintwork. Further contrast is added with a set of five-spoke lightweight forged alloy 650S wheels finished in gloss black.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed with lightweight black Alcantara, with contrasting orange stitching throughout. The interior look is complemented by extensive use of carbon fibre and a gloss black finish applied to the air vents, instrument cluster, and switches on the Active Dynamics Panel.
This unique French-registered LHD McLaren has covered a mere 17 miles (28km) and is estimated by Bonhams to achieve a sale price of between £200,000-£280,000.
