Lexus says the UX has been designed "to appeal to a progressive, urban audience living in a connected environment." It previews a possible replacement for the CT200h hatchback, turning it into more of a compact SUV, and, more significantly, we are told, it shows the new design direction for future Lexus models.
The UX has been designed at Lexus's European design headquarters, ED2, and, Lexus says, "it showcases imaginative technologies for an immersive driver experience, while the interior combines traditional craftsmanship with high-tech manufacturing techniques."
The first teaser image shows a five-door SUV with bulging wheel arches, a sleek coupe-like roofline and futuristic taillights. Sporty dual exhausts suggest a combustion engine... or a double-bluff bit of cosmetics for an electric drivetrain.
