Geneva 2017 has given quite the yield, from supercars and sportscars, to hybrids, EVs, and everything in between. Here are the Top 10 cars we loved from the show.

McLaren 720S
Yes, the 650S replacement in the McLaren Super Series is the mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive 720S supercar. The name denotes the power in metric horsepower, so it’s fast: the new 4.0-litre V8 accelerates to 60mph in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 212mph. But it’s those looks that stand out – no side air intakes, hollowed-out sockets for the LED headlights and dihedral doors that cut right into the spine of the car. Best of all, the Folding Driver Display collapses the digital instrument panel, leaving just a strip display for track action.

Range Rover Velar
It might be a Range Rover to slot in between Evoque and Range Rover Sport, but it’s a real step change in design and tone for the family. Inside, there are two high-definition touchscreens, one of which rotates out from the dash, and the centre console is also controlled by touchable graphics on black glass. There are new hard-wearing smart fabrics and patterned fake leather which looks and feels smarter than the real thing.

Ferrari 812 Superfast
The fastest, most powerful road-going Fezza of all time, and a replacement for the F12 Berlinetta. What a great way to kickstart the 70th-anniversary celebrations. The name echoes the 500 Superfast model, also launched at Geneva, in 1964. You’d better be a handy driver – 789bhp and 529ib ft are available pretty high up the rev counter and there’s four-wheel electronic steering…

DS7 Crossback
DS’s first stand-alone car since the original 1955 DS is all about the lights… three LEDs rotate 180 degrees when the car is unlocked and can swivel left and right as well as up and down. It’s different, smart and oh so French.
Aston Martin Valkyrie/AMR
It’s just a name for the AM-RB 001, but what a name. Continuing the tradition of Aston Martin V cars (Vantage, Virage, Vanquish, Vulcan). Alongside it, Aston revealed its AMR derivative badge, a higher performance upgrade package for Vanquish and possibly DB11, with the lighter AMR Line handling pack available for Rapide and possibly DBX when it comes to market.

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo
Porsche builds the best-looking estate ever. One for all those depressed parents who need to ditch the 911 and buy a family station wagon. Win-win!

Bentley Continental Supersport
The fastest Bentley to 62mph. The famous W12 engine with new turbochargers on board develops 700bhp and 738lb ft of torque, and it’s available as a coupe or convertible.

Eadon Green Black Cuillin
Is it a Morgan Aero 8? Is it a Thirties Delahaye or Bugatti perhaps? At the time of filing, the wraps were still on the Black Cuillin (named after mountains on Skye) but we do know it’s got a stonking V12 in it….

Ruf 2017 CTR
RUF is celebrating 30 years since the 1987 CTR Yellowbird with its first independently engineered car, the 2017 CTR. The tuning specialist first turned its hand to Porsches in 1975, and has now built its own chassis: a rear-engined carbon-fibre monocoque. Power is from the Porsche twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat-six engine, with 700bhp and 649b ft of torque taken to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Top speed 223mph, 0-62mph in under 3.5 seconds.

Mercedes AMG GT Concept
As part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of AMG, Mercedes has designed this autonomous four-door coupe. Power comes from a V8 engine and electric motors, with 0-62mph in under three seconds. Expect the styling to be carried over to a production version of the third car in the series, after SLS AMG and AMG GT.
