With every all-electric hypercar with four-figure horsepower numbers, come the detractors in the comments. Among many other things, they say “I’ll believe it when I see it”, which is fair enough. How do you even imagine what 2,000PS going to ground looks like in one of these things? Well, wonder no more, with this clip of the Rimac Nevera in full production trim devastates its tyres and bends the laws of physics at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
Video: 2,000PS Rimac Nevera attacks Goodwood Hillclimb
We don’t see that 1.85-second 0-62mph run, given how it evaporates its tyres off the start in rear-drive mode, but the acceleration is truly devastating. It looks to carry itself around the more demanding parts of the Hill with grace and control too. It’s so damn fast though, isn’t it? To the point the camera operators are really having to put in a shift to keep up. There may be no sound to EVs, but the sound of the sheer assault on the air, tyres and asphalt the Nevera is conducting is compelling in itself.
