When the new Range Rover was unveiled there were plenty of people who were disappointed. The car was criticised for being too similar to the old one, too big, too expensive. All of those criticisms make sense. Or do they?

Too big and too expensive? Well the last car wasn’t exactly a Mini, and Land Rover has realised people will pay almost anything to drive a Range Rover, so who cares if it’s £94,000 basic? As for being too similar to the old car, well there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that, despite the evolutionary looks, this could prove to be another huge leap for the Range Rover. The best way to find out was to drive it, so that’s exactly what we did.
