As the beloved (by us) Volkswagen Phaeton turns 20, here is the second-generation car that never quite was. That’s right, this is the near-as-it-gets finished Phaeton D2 from 2016, that Volkswagen killed at the eleventh hour in the wake of ‘a systematic re-alignment with a focus on electric mobility’.
