Video: Exclusive! Koenigsegg One:1 and Regera driving together

One year on from our world exclusive first drive of the Koenigsegg One:1, the enigmatic Swedes have returned to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed. Generous as ever, they brought with them not only a One:1, but also the Regera

Koenigsegg

According to Jens Sverdrup of Supervettura (formerly of Koenigsegg) the correct Swedish pronunciation of this latest hypercar-killing machine is ‘Re – yer – a’. The scene at the Goodwood circuit when the One:1 arrived was something to behold; visitors to the circuit are used to seeing all manner of exotic and rare fast cars arriving, but sight of the One:1 hanging around the paddock caused several people to cancel the rest of their day – they just wanted to stay close and photograph it. Now imagine their reaction when the Regera was rolled out of its transporter …

Koenigsegg

It had come here direct from Sweden where the development programme is in full swing. Unfortunately it’s in such full-swing that the car isn’t quite ready to be fully unleashed, but we were still allowed a close-up inspection of this gorgeous Koenigsegg intended for the Megacar driver who might prefer touring to burning up the blacktop on a racing circuit. Also, Jens agreed that we could take it out on the Goodwood circuit for a gentle run alongside the One:1. That was great news …

Even better news was Jens’ decree that we could take the One:1 out on the road for a short spin and – even better still – sample a lot more of its performance than we were allowed to last year when the car was brand new. We accepted this offer and can report that the performance of the One:1 bent our perception of what’s possible. Whatever you have, it is not enough to keep up with one of these. Not quite.

Mind you, according to Mr Sverdrup Koenigsegg expect that the Regera could out-perform the One:1. Heavens above …
