Breakfast Club Gallery: Vee‑Power Sunday

At 6:30am this morning when the GRR team arrived at the circuit it seemed that Vee-Power Sunday was simply not going to happen, so abject were the conditions. That we ended up with a grid and three paddocks crammed full of cars, bikes, pick ups and two Spitfires says a lot about what a popular fixture Breakfast Club has become and the redoubtable nature of the people who make such an effort to be here. We salute you!

What’s even more remarkable is that this is Vee-Power Sunday, which means that many visitors to Goodwood had to deal with lots of power and torque as well as horizontal rain. Still, this didn’t stop the usual vast array of diverse machinery from turning up. How diverse? Well, just walking down the grid revealed a Morgan Three-Wheeler sandwiched in between a Lamborghini Countach and an Iso Rivolta IR340. A few steps further on and there was a McLaren 650S, a Lexus LFA, a Bugatti Veyron, the infamous ‘Alchemist’ hot rod, and then said pair of Supermarine Spitfires Mk IXs!

The rain kept coming, but so did the cars. A trio of Land Rover 101s looked particularly at home, less so a Lancia Lambda which didn’t appear to have its side screens with it. Elsewhere a Pagani Zonda drew a big crowd and everybody loved the Three-Wheelers. As ever there’s simply too much to cover here, so we’ve put together a gallery for you instead. We might even put out a few more in the next couple of days to tide you over until Breakfast Club starts again in 2015 …
