Video: A visor‑cam is the only real way to experince a 917K
We all have our own personal dream drives, and such a choice is a very subjective and infinitely debatable thing. Here’s ours: Salzburg Porsche 917K, Le Mans 1970. Seeing as we don’t have a time machine, the video above is about as close as we can get. This visor-cam video of Bruce Canepa giving a Gulf-liveried 917 the berries around Laguna Seca goes some way to soaking us in the glory of that flat-12 concerto. Just look at that driving position, and the energy with which he runs it through the gears. It’s got to be the ultimate workout, and would be, without question, our ultimate drive.
