We're not sure what other time a Honda Jazz could be joined by a Clio, a Nissan Micra and a Ford Fiesta at the Motor Circuit and it warranted an extensive photo op. It could only be the start of 2017's edition of the Mongol Rally.

Once again we're flooded with rally-ready steeds yet to face their toughest ever test, as the hoards of 1,000cc-or-less cars set out on their quest across the continents. Would trust a 2CV on a circa-10,000-mile pan-continental jaunt? We're not sure we would, but that's not in the spirit of the Mongol, as man and (very basic) machine unite alone and unaided in their battle with the harshest wilds the northern hemisphere has to offer. A world away from the dicing priceless classics at Revival, we're sure...
