The undoubted sporting and social highlight of the season, the Qatar Goodwood Festival gets underway in 2022 with the opening ceremony on Tuesday 26 July.
As thrilling a spectacle as any since it was inaugurated in 1812, the Group One Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup is not to be missed. The two-mile stayers’ race which carries a prize fund of £500,000 sees the John Gosden trained Stradivarius look to re-write the history books by winning a fifth consecutive Goodwood Cup, a feat unlikely to be surpassed.
Another key race is the £300,000 Group 2 Unibet Lennox Stakes, which will see some of the very best seven-furlong specialists go head-to-head. Arguably the most prestigious race over this distance in the country.
Goodwood Talent In Fashion Award
Aside from the racing, in 2021, the fashion stakes will be high as British fashion designer, Richard Quinn, showcased three gorgeous outfits which were worn by models circulating around the racecourse throughout the afternoon to announce the launch of the ‘Goodwood Talent in Fashion Award,’ in association with the British Fashion Council. This exciting new award has been specially created to nurture rising British talent, recognising innovative fashion designers who show creativity and flair.
