Festival of Speed | Press Article 18/05/16

A car from the innovative global motorsporting phenomenon that is the FIA Formula E Championship will make its first appearance at the Festival of Speed in 2016.

Renault E.Dams team, the reigning Formula E champion team, will be giving its title-winning Spark-Renault Z.E.15, which has already notched up two wins this season, several runs up the hillclimb during the weekend.

In just two years Formula E has become one of the most popular series around the globe, with race events taking place in city centres and the entire race meeting (practice, qualifying and the race itself) all taking place on one day.

E.Dams driver Sebastien Buemi is currently the most successful in Formula E with five wins across the two seasons and sits just a handful of points behind championship leader Lucas di Grassi in this year’s Drivers’ Championship.

Renault E.Dams itself currently sits atop the Teams’ Championship with a seven-point advantage over di Grassi’s ABT Audi Sport squad and holds the record for the most wins  – six to date.

With the 2016 finale taking place just one week after the Festival, Formula E’s presence at Goodwood will be the perfect opportunity for the always-passionate British fans to get up close to one of the leading teams and its front-running racer.
