Goodwood Estate | Press Article 12/11/18

On Sunday 11 November 2018, The Duke of Richmond lit the Chichester Beacon on the Trundle in memory of those who died during the First World War. A procession of torch bearers carried torches along the southern rampart of the Iron-age hill fort, representing the 563 lives lost from Chichester, Lavant, Westhampnett, Singleton, East and West Dean. The Chichester Beacon was one of 1,000 beacons lits across the UK to mark 100 years since Armistice Day.
