At the end of July the GRRC team welcomed Members to the second Autosolo of the year, held at Thruxton Motor Circuit. Arriving the night before, the team went to work laying out the course in preparation for the next day. Our GRRC event planner Robyn Parker tested the course in her MINI John Cooper Works and completed it in a modest 54 seconds.
It didn’t take long for the competition to heat up the next day, with Members competing for the best time in their class. Although rarely going above second gear there were some fantastic displays of commitment from our Members’! John Austin set about to complete the entire course with only three wheels on the ground, in his nippy Nissan Micra. While friendly rivalries took place between father and son Graham and Jack Pettit in their Westfield.
The fastest overall time of the day was won by Edward Lowman in his Mazda MX5 and the full results can be downloaded here.
The Club was also fortunate enough to have GRRC Members James Galloway and Andy Synyszyn on hand with their cameras to capture brilliant shots of the day!
Next GRRC Autosolo
