Goodwood Cycling FAQs
Staying safe whilst at Goodwood Motor Circuit
- We ask all that all members of the public ensure they are appropriately socially distancing at all times, with a minimum of two metres distance between one another.
- Only one person is permitted to sign on at a time to ensure guests are appropriately distanced and safe.
- The on-site toilets will be open for our guests to use and will be regularly cleaned and sanitised.
- Staff will be present at all times throughout the day and will have the necessary PPE available to them.
- Once you have finished your cycling session, please return straight to your car and leave the site to ensure there is no gathering around the Circuit and its buildings.
Do I need to pre-book?
Yes, you must pre-book ahead of arrival if you’re thinking of joining any of our cycling sessions. This can be done by booking online. If you have not pre-booked, unfortunately, we will not be able to give you access to the Motor Circuit.
Please note that under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
Where do I go when I arrive and is parking free?
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Goodwood Motor Circuit. Please refer to our How To Find Us page for directions on how to get here.
Upon arrival, you will be met by a Goodwood marshal at the entrance of the Motor Circuit. Once directed, proceed through the tunnel, then turn left along a long tree-lined road. Parking is located in the paddock shelters and is free of charge. Social distancing measures have been put in place for your safety.
To sign-in ahead of your cycling session, please go to the Jackie Stewart Pavilion. One guest will be admitted to be signed-in at a time.
Can all levels of experience attend?
Everyone is welcome to attend Goodwood cycling sessions. Whether you are an avid cyclist looking for a flat surface to train on, a beginner who is looking for a safe environment to enjoy or a family looking for a fun cycle ride, the track is open to all.
Please note that 13-17-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent/guardian but they do not need to be on track cycling themselves. Under-12's must be accompanied on track with a paying parent/guardian.
How long can I cycle for and what time can I arrive?
You can arrive anytime during a session. The last entry onto the Circuit is 30 minutes prior to the session end time. There is no maximum time limit on how long you can cycle.
What do I have to bring with me and what should I wear?
Participants must wear helmets on all of our cycling sessions and will not be permitted access to the track without one. You do not need to wear any special clothing, but we do recommend that comfortable, sensible clothing and trainers are worn.
Please remember to bring necessary cleaning equipment as per current guidance, including hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes.
Is there food and drink available to be purchased?
Yes, whilst our onsite cafés remain closed we have put in place a temporary catering facility, offering hot and cold refreshments along with a selection of snacks to purchase whilst you are here with us.
Are there bike racks and is there somewhere I can store my personal belongings?
No, not at present. Personal belongings are your own responsibility.
Will the event still happen in all types of weather?
It is very unusual for us to have to cancel cycling sessions due to weather. Should there be particularly adverse weather forecast (such as snow, ice, heavy rain) we will contact you ahead of the date and arrange for you to come on an alternative day. If the weather is very bad on the day, and you would like to double check that we are running the session as scheduled please call 01243 755093.
My bike has TT bars, can I bring them?
Absolutely, but please make sure that they are fitted properly before you take to the circuit and that you're comfortable using them. Also, please be aware of those who are not using them when going around the circuit.
