Goodwood Ladies have a spring in their step

With a field of 33 players ready to kick start the 2016 season on Goodwood's Members Downs Course, it was Judy Manktelow who was crowned the outright winner by one point with an impressive score of 31 points. Second place was eventually decided on the countback of the last six holes which went to Diane Simpson, while Lorraine Dunabin finished third.

The Stableford format event started with registration in the Pro Shop with current form and new methodologies learnt during recent lessons at Golf At Goodwood hot topics of conversation.

The atmosphere was one of the many highlights of the day with the Shot Gun start only enhancing the social element to the day, allowing the ladies time to meet and greet each other both before and after their round.

The Spring sunshine provided the ladies event near perfect conditions to compete for championship honours on the course. The Longest Drive Hole (18th), Nearest The Pin Hole (12th) and The Nearest The Pin in Two Shot (6th) added yet another element of competition, seeking out the longest hitting and most accurate lady on the day. Congratulations must go to ‘The Longest Drive Winner’: Barbara Parker, ‘The Nearest The Pin Winner’: Pauline Senior and ‘The Nearest The Pin in Two Shots’: Barbara Parker.
