Best known for their number one singles ‘Nobody to Love’ and ‘Changing,’ as well as recent hit ‘Find Me,’ Sigma unleashed a huge variety of tracks from a spectrum of genres. As well as some of their own massive hits, Sigma and MC Justyce spun out a plethora of floor-fillers to a suitably animated crowd. The Parade Ring-turned-dancefloor was filled to capacity, as 12,000 racegoers danced under a pulsating laser show.
During the evening racing, Racecourse ambassador Jim Crowley continued his incredible streak at the track with a winner aboard Mudaarab (3/1) in the Sir Eric Parker Memorial Handicap Stakes. Another with good form at Goodwood, having won twice at the course already this season, Road To Dubai came agonisingly close to making it three when just denied by Galactic Prince (4/1) in the Sussex Roof Garden Handicap Stakes.
Hollie Doyle landed the opening Federation of Bloodstock Agents Novice Auction Stakes on 5/6F Royal Household, giving trainer Richard Hannon a first winner at Goodwood this season. I’vegotthepower (8/1) capped a remarkable day for Silvestre De Souza when winning the Lady’s Newspaper Handicap Stakes, the rider having ridden five winners at Sandown before travelling to Goodwood.
Goodwood’s next fixture is the Qatar Goodwood Festival from 1-5 August, which is the highlight of the racing and social season. ‘Glorious’ attracts over 100,000 racegoers, who come from around the world to enjoy the spectacle of the highest quality racing, elegant fashion, fine food and drink and a quintessentially English ambiance.
