This week, we have chosen five of our favourite health and wellbeing websites.
1. Yoga by Gaia (gaia.com)
We believe that the best way to practise Yoga is at a class, with an experienced instructor but with our busy lives, this is not always possible. So the next best option is to use an online tutorial and Yoga by Gaia is packed full of online Yoga classes, for all abilities and to fit in with all schedules. From a 20 minute 'Get up and Go!' morning class to a more contemplative class for later in the day, you can dip in and out of this site as needed.
Cutting edge food, style and fitness news from across the pond. Since most new fitness trends begin in the USA, this site allows you to stay one step ahead. Divided into categories such as 'Good Looks', 'Good Advice', 'Good Sweat' and 'Good Travel', it seeks out new ideas and new approaches in the world of health and fitness.
A UK-orientated online destination for expert health and beauty advice and reviews. Founded by Susannah Taylor from Vogue and Sarah Vine from The Times, this conversational and trend-spotting site features well-known experts who pass on tips and tricks. Stay ahead of the newest trends in style and beauty and surprise your teenaged children!
4. The Happiness Project (gretchenrubin.com)
Gretchen dedicated a year to trying to improve her overall happiness and in doing so, sparked a whole business. She writes honestly about her efforts to be happier and her accounts are funny, down-to-earth and honest. On her website, and in her books and podcasts, she offers no-nonsense, practical ideas that really work. A self-styled 'happiness bully', Gretchen really believes that we can all learn to be a little happier, every day, and tells us what worked for her.
Model and nutritionist Rosemary offers achievable and sensible ways to adapt your diet and lifestyle so that you feel better. There's no preaching or holier-than-thou attitude here - Rosemary is a busy mother of three who understands that real life can sometimes derail the best intentions (one of her recent articles was entitled " How To Tackle A Summer Hangover") - but she offers recipes, suggestions and information about how clever nutrition can help you. If you are inspired by what you read, Rosemary herself will be at the Health Club from 8th to 12th May , offering her 5 Day Plan. More details can be found on our 'Upcoming Events' page.
