Our festive fitness tips
Christmas is all about eating and drinking too much, as well as spending time with family. This can make it tricky to stay active during the festive season. However, it is still possible to embrace the celebrations and keep fit.
Tip 1: Plan, plan, plan!
It is key to plan your fitness routine, whilst remaining realistic and flexible. On days when you haven’t got enough time to go to the gym, a walk or a 20-minute HIIT workout is enough to keep your body in the habit of exercising.
Tip 2: Start early
Workout first thing in the morning, this will kickstart your day and remove the opportunity for excuses as the day goes on.
Tip 3: Get together
Get the family involved! Combing exercise with socialising is a great way to stay active as well as making it more enjoyable. Wrap up warm and get out in the fresh air for a family walk. Exercising with others will also help you stay motivated.
Tip 4: Don't forget to have fun
Finally, make sure you enjoy yourself! Christmas is all about over indulging and having fun. However, by finding the time to still exercise will mean you haven’t got the difficult January restart.
