Fly Tying Masterclass
- The Kennels
Saturday 18 June, 9.30am
A fun activity for the fly-fishing lover in your life. Learning the core techniques and enjoying the thrill of catching a fish on a fly you have tied. Fly tying is the process of producing an artificial fly to help you catch fish. Your three-hour session of fly tying will teach you the core techniques of how to attach a thread to the hook shank, how to apply feathers to make a tail, create a body from dubbing materials and feathers, to tie and wrap feather hackles and use a whip finish tool to complete your fly.
The flies we will hope to complete will be the Pheasant tail nymph, Diawl Bach, Blue winged olive, Damsel nymph, Shuttlecock and finally the Parachute Adams.
You will be able to keep your flies in a green cam lock fly box which is supplied and you will get a set of instructions which you can take home with you.
Come and have a go it’s not as hard and fiddly as most people think! Patience and an eye for detail makes for a good fly.
Refreshments will be included with tea, coffee and biscuits available. To book, please click here. For more information, please call 01243 755132 or email kennelsreservations@goodwood.com
