Every now and then we like to celebrate some of the lesser-known sections of the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. That’s because the site is quite simply so big that it’s almost impossible for every one to know where everyrhing is at the Festival.
One of our favourite themes here is the turnaround, hidden at the very bottom end of the famous Hill. When cars come down from their paddocks to get ready for their runs, they have to at some time point the other way, and the obvious answer to this: noisy burnouts.
The sheer breadth of cars that come to the Festival of Speed mean this area can see anything from a ponderous three-point turn from a Group C car, to the latest electric Porsche racing car or, as we enjoy, cars changing direction through a combination of sheer brute force and anger.
This video – from a YouTuber whose name could best be described as “a jumble of letters” showcases pretty much every car at Goodwood over that weekend. Which makes it a perfect showcase as to why you should make it your mission to get down to the very bottom of the Hill this year at FOS.
