On a very different note to the screaming single-seaters, a Royal Land Rover that was once charged with ferrying be-crowned folks around from the safety of a bulletproof canopy. The most expensive car in the sale? That’ll be WO Bentley’s “silent 100mph car”, the 1931 Bentley 8-litre tourer, which is expected to sell for between £550,000 and £650,000.
For lovers of ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s motoring, there are plenty of classics to chose from, ranging from Minis to Jaguar E-types, Aston Martins and Porsches. Speaking of Minis, there’s also a very odd Tickford-modified 1984 Mini 1000 HLE, with a radically different front end compared with other Minis. The main change? Big square lights, where the Mini’s cute eyes used to be. An odd one but a fun one for sure. Which is your pick of the bunch?
