[Video] Ineos Grenadier debuts at FOS | GRR
It takes a brave company to put the iconic Land Rover Defender in its sights as the competitor to beat, but that’s what Ineos are doing with the all-new Grenadier. Launched as a go-anywhere, do-anything, terrain-eating 4x4, the Grenadier has been designed as a workhorse to ‘get the job done’. Partnering with the Halo Trust, a landmine clearance charity, it’s clear that Ineos aren’t messing around with this rough and tough marketing angle.
Debuting here at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, we can confirm its already turning heads as an incredibly impressive off-roading platform and one that looks more than capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the Defender.
Less of a luxury runaround and more of a working vehicle, the Grenadier is something you’d happily take to war, rather than a run to the shops. Powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines from BMW, the Grenadier is rugged and functional, as its name would suggest. Yet interestingly, this name wasn’t actually inspired by a grenade-totting soldier. It was inspired by the boozer in which this project was originally conceived. What’s not to like?
