Video: AMG GT3 flat-out at the Nürburgring
No matter how many Nürburgring Nordschleife onboards we watch, it never gets old. And today’s Elevenses really delivers the goods, in the form of this vicarious ride aboard Fabian Schiller’s Mercedes AMG GT3.
Strap yourself into your spinny seat (or sofa) and prepare for eight minutes of sheer exhilaration as Schiller speeds around the 12.9-mile circuit. From the pedestrian (in context) surroundings of the startline, to the dramatic sweeping curves through the forest that earned it the ‘Green Hell’ moniker, Schiller barely lifts off, wrestling with the futuristic steering wheel at frightening speeds.
He closes on and passes other cars in a matter of seconds, the 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 spitting more than 550PS (404kW) to the tarmac with a furious hum. Exactly eight minutes after crossing the start line, Schiller completes the lap, seemingly nonplussed by his incredible speeds. The same can’t be said for us, however…
