[Video] Onboard the £1million 700bhp ultimate Ford GT | GRR
What do you get if you take the Le Mans racing GTE-spec version of Ford’s mighty GT hypercar, and take every singe restriction off it? Well, you get this, the Ford GT MkII.
It costs £1million, has 708PS, or 700bhp, and won the supercar shootout at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 2019. This then, is the ultimate version of the GT.
But, I hear you ask, why are there restrictions to a racing car? Well, it’s simple. The GTE cars have to race to a balance of performance (BoP), and a set of regulations. The BoP means things like restrictors on intakes, changes to ride height and added ballast, all designed to make sure all the cars in the class compete on a level playing field. And regulations, well they are just how motorsport works. So if you take the things specified by those regulations and the BoP restrictions away, you get an even meaner machine.
Oh, and it’s also got more aero than the standard GTE car. And looks really badass. And it sounds great. Basically it’s awesome and this onboard is excellent.
