Of all the precious and insanely valuable cars we love to see at the Revival, among the Ferrari 250 GTOs, Jaguar E-Types and AC Cobras, the selection of Minis that are always present over the weekend are by far and away some of the most exciting and enjoyable to watch.
While we were reminiscing about the 2021 Goodwood Revival as we get ever closer to this year’s event, we couldn’t help but pick out this quite remarkable onboard footage of 2013 BTCC champion Andrew Jordan hustling a Mini during qualifying for the John Whitmore Trophy.
It’s an excellent view of the road ahead, the driver and his feet, which gives us a perfect insight into how these racers are able to keep up as much speed as possible and take the fight to the much larger machines around them. Of particular note is the alarming lack of braking, a stark contrast to the frantic work going on at the wheel as Jordan expertly balances the car around the Motor Circuit’s many high-speed corners. It’s mesmerising work, and we can’t wait to see more of it when the Mini’s head out for this year’s St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul.
