Video: On board Adrian Newey's Group C high-speed suspension failure at Daytona
Picture the scene, you're a world famous F1 designer, multiple championship winning designer of racing cars. Someone calls you up one day and asks if you fancy racing a car you had a hand in, a Group C car no less, at the iconic Classic Daytona 24 Hours? How fast will you say yes?
Now picture the moment, a few weeks or so later, that you head out for your first sighting laps of the weekend, all excited to see how a March 83G feels at speed on the high banking. You're just settling into a night stint and suddenly, bang, it happens. Your suspension fails on those high banks. How would you react?
Fortunately Adrian Newey is an acomplished racer as well as a designer and he was able to bring the might March back into the pits rather than it spearing him into the wall. He might have needed some new overalls though...
