Bentley teases new Continental Speed | GRR
Bentley has already announced that all its cars will be battery-electric only to meet the UK government’s ban on solely diesel and petrol powered vehicles from 2030. But the Crewe-based manufacturer is determined to go out with tyres screaming and says that its new Continental GT Speed will be its ‘most capable, performance-focused Bentley yet’.
Don’t expect a stripped-out track special however, it is a Bentley after all and there will still be ‘no compromise to comfort or luxury’. The teaser image shows a more purposeful evolution of the standard car with side sills, deeper front and rear bumpers and of course, massive wheels.
Expect a healthy bump over the standard W12 model’s 635PS (467kW) – the ultra-exclusive Bacalar produces 660PS (485kW) so there is room for improvement – and chassis tweaks carried over from sister brand Porsche. This is likely to include the rear-wheel steering already seen on the Flying Spur and perhaps an uprated Bentley Dynamic Ride system.
The Bentley Continental GT Speed will be unveiled online at 4pm on 23rd March.
