The new UX could become Lexus' biggest seller
Lexus has unveiled its new small city SUV, or “urban compact crossover”, the UX, ahead of its appearance at the Geneva motor show.
Under the punchy bodywork, there’s an all-new platform to give the UX “exceptional body rigidity” according to Lexus, and a low centre of gravity for a more performance-oriented drive that’s more akin to the handling of a hatchback.
Further details, including pricing and on-sale dates, will be released with the car’s launch to the media on Tuesday but you can expect plenty of leather and standard kit; although it’s the baby of the Lexus SUV range, it’s still from a premium family.
The UX will have its work cut out to get noticed in this market: its competitors include the highly lauded Volvo XC40, BMW X2, Audi Q2 and Jaguar E-Pace.
