[Video] Attacking a classic Touge in tiny Kei cars | GRR
I’ve made no bones about my love of Japanese car culture. My love of small high-revving engines in tiny Kei cars being thrown down mountain roads by some of the most talented drivers and drifters in the world is tough to match.
I can already feel the judgment seeping through my computer screen. I feel like it is only fair to provide an example to help you understand. In this video two of Japan’s most talented drivers, Nobuteru Taniguchi (NOB) and Keiichi Tsuchiya (DK), take two Kei cars down the Gunsai touge stage.
The first in question is the Spoon N-One RS. This little Honda is one of many Kei cars we don’t get in the UK. In this case, the tuning company SPOON has taken the Honda N-One and given it their special treatment. The normal Honda N-One RS has caused a fair bit of excitement in Japan, due to its six-speed manual gearbox. Couple this with SPOON tuning and we have the pinnacle of family Kei cars. In order to put it to the test, Best MOTORing Channel have pit it against another of my favourite cars, the Honda S660, in particular the Modulo X version. This is the Honda S2000’s baby brother and that should tell you all you need to know about how brilliant it is.
