Video: Ferrari F40s embark on a three-day road trip | GRR
As motoring icons go, the Ferrari F40 is certainly one that justifies that classification. Even as it approaches middle age it’s still right at the very sharpest edge of what we consider to be cool in 2023.
The F40 was and remains a hard and fast racing car for the road, unencumbered by excess weight or computer oversight, powered by that biblical 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8.
A little more than 1,300 Ferrari F40s were ever made, which makes them quite the rarity, especially on public roads. But Ferrari put on quite the show earlier in the year when it opened the gates of the Maranello factory to unleash a huge convoy of these famous supercars upon the streets of Italy.
It was all a part of the Legacy Tour, that saw these cars traverse the stunning sights of Tuscany, the Apennines before culminating in a trip to the famous Fiorano test track, where cars like the F40 were first put through their paces.
