The RAC TT Celebration at the 2022 Goodwood Revival reminded us exactly why this is the flagship race of the event, with ups, downs, twists and turns all soundtracked by screaming straight-sixes and roaring V8s.
Adrian Newey’s Jaguar E-Type screamed off the line, as if it were a different class of car, with Jenson Button behind the wheel, though yellow flags tightened the pack as the race progressed. Eventually what seemed like a dead cert for the win succumbed to reliability issues shortly after Harrison Newey jumped in for his stint. From then out it was a battle between Cobras, Mike Whitaker’s plucky TVR and Tom Kristensen in a magnificent Lister-Jaguar Coupe for the win.
