Saturday at the Goodwood Revival sees racing get going properly for the weekend, with sportscars, single-seaters and touring cars from the ‘40s ‘50s and ‘60s taking to the Motor Circuit to do battle.
We opened with a ‘50s Lotus fight for the elad in the Madgwick Cup, before the little ones took to their J40s for the Settrington Cup. Then we moved through GP bikes, 1.5-litre F1 cars in the Glover Trophy and the little v large fight of the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul. Some early grand prix machinery in the Goodwood Trophy lead into the big-banger sportscars of the Whitsun Trophy presented by Sky Cinema, before we closed the day out with the beautiful Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy. In between we had a track full of significant early Ferraris and Graham Hill cars, including Damon driving his Dad’s Championship-winning ‘Old Faithful’ BRM.
