But, there’s also a huge appreciation of cars from the rest of the world, take the screaming Porsche 911 RSR for example. So we’ve pulled together a collection of our favourite sounds that filled the air of Daytona Beach over the weekend at the Historic Sportscar Racing Classic 24.
Yes, it is absolutely dominated by V8s, but they’re not all in American machinery, and at least one of them might surprise you. When you’re at Daytona, the combination of the banking the giant Daytona Rising grandstand building and the flat, open land means that racing engines sound, if anything, even louder than usual.
